Music and Movement at Windmill Lodge

We were delighted to welcome Sonia back to Windmill Lodge for another energetic Music and Movement session. Her visits are always popular with residents, bringing enthusiasm and a fun opportunity to get moving together.
Keeping the Beat Together
Sonia arrived with brightly coloured neon drumsticks, giving the session an extra burst of colour and excitement. Residents enjoyed tapping along to the beat, following the rhythm and sharing plenty of smiles as the room filled with music and energy.

Everyone was able to take part at their own pace, whether by tapping gently, joining in with the movements or simply enjoying the music and encouragement around them. There was a wonderful sense of togetherness as residents got involved and supported one another throughout the activity.
Fun Movement and Connection
Music and rhythm activities can provide an enjoyable way to encourage gentle movement and social connection. For older adults, they can benefit from physical, cognitive, social and emotional benefits, including improvements in mobility confidence, balance and overall wellbeing.

For us, the most important thing was seeing residents having fun. Sonia’s upbeat approach and engaging music with colourful props created a lively session that brought plenty of energy and laughter to the home.
At Windmill Lodge, we use music, movement and creative activities to make staying active feel enjoyable and inclusive. If you would like to learn more about the regular activities and entertainment residents enjoy here, please get in touch with our friendly team today.
